Beverly Hills National Auditions Winners on Classical Crossroads' "The Interludes" series in Torrance CA
"Beautiful, very artistic, clear operatic soprano from Argentina will share a program with a powerful tenor from Chile. Both have extensive repertoire." ~ Beverly Hills National Auditions Selection Committee
Tenor Xavier Prado came to the U.S. with his family at the age of 15. An accomplished violinist and violist, his focus shifted fully to becoming a singer, and he has sung numerous leading operatic and oratorio roles in Europe and North America. In 2018, Opera Buffs selected Mr. Prado to be featured in their fall production of La Boheme and he received a grant they provide to excellent emerging young artists. In January 2019, Mr. Prado starred as the lead role in the world premiere of the new opera Dulcinea XL by celebrated composer Juan Colomer under maestro Ignazio Terrasi and the Los Angeles Grand Ensemble at the Colburn School's Zipper Concert Hall.
American/Argentinian soprano Camila Lima made her debut in the role of Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata in Barcelona, Spain, and has since sung numerous leading operatic roles in Europe and North America. She has sung at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles and at Carnegie Hall in New York. She was the winner of alternate First Prize of the 2018 international New York Lyric Opera Competition and semi-finalist at the Montserrat Caballe Competition in Zaragoza and the Jaume Aragall Competition in Sabadell, both in Spain. Camila won the Beverly Hills National Auditions for a second time, and is returning after her recital triumph last season.
