THE ROAD THEATRE COMPANY and Taylor Gilbert, Founder/Artistic Director together with Sam Anderson, Artistic Director,
present the third show of the Road’s 2019-2020 season, the world premiere of SCINTILLA, written by Alessandro Camon (Time Alone) and directed by Ann Hearn Tobolowsky (Through the Eye of A Needle). SCINTILLA will preview on Tuesday, April 21 Wednesday, April 22 & Thursday, April 23 at 8pm will open on Friday, April 24, 2020 at 8pm and run through Sunday, June 14 at the Road Theatre on Magnolia, located in The NoHo Senior Arts Colony, 10747 Magnolia Blvd. in North Hollywood.

ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM AND CAST
ALESSANDRO CAMON (Playwright) is a writer and producer born in Italy and currently living in Los Angeles. He is best known for “The Messenger,” a contemporary drama about war casualties, for which he and co-writer Oren Moverman won the Berlin Film Festival Best Screenplay Award and were nominated for an Academy Award. Alessandro's producing credits include “Owning Mahowny,” “Thank You For Smoking,” “The Undertow,” “The Cooler,” “American Psycho,” “Bad Lieutenant: New Orleans” and “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.” His play Time Alone, dealing with incarceration and trauma survival, received the Outstanding New Play Award from the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle, the Stage Raw Award for Best Playwriting, and five Ovation Award nominations, including Best Playwriting. Alessandro started his career in Italy, as a television executive and a film critic for various national magazines and newspapers. He holds a Degree in Philosophy from the University of Padua, Italy, and an MA in Film from UCLA. He has published several books and articles on film and popular culture, both in English and Italian. Alessandro is currently working on several film and television projects.
ANN HEARN TOBOLOWSKY (Director) Recent directing credits include the classic Bus Stop at Theatre 40 and three world premieres, The Favorite at Avery Schreiber Playhouse, Forever Bound by Steve Apostolina at Atwater Theatre and at The Road Theatre, Jami Brandli’s Through the Eye of a Needle. Also, at the Road Theatre, an Off-Road production of Anatomy of a Hug, multiple readings for The Road’s Word series and the Summer Playwrights Festival productions of A Shonda, Unbound, The Specials, The Gift and The Night We Bombed Lincoln Towing. Previously at Theatre 40: Holy Days, Driving Miss Daisy, Another Part of the Forest. Acting credits in Los Angeles theater: South Coast Repertory, LATC, Theatre 40, Missing Piece Theater, Taper Too, CAST Theater, Ensemble Studio Theatre. Regional Theatre: New Harmony Theatre, Alaska Repertory. Film: “Strange Nature,” “Lorenzo’s Oil,” “The Accused,” and “My Father the Hero.” Television: “The Dollmaker,” “ER,” “Designing Women,” “Evening Shade,” and “Rizzoli & Isles.”
Ann is a member of the Artistic Board at The Road Theatre, as well as a member of Beverly Hills Theatre 40.
The cast of SCINTILLA will feature: Taylor Gilbert as “Marianne,” Kris Frost as “Michael,” Jacqueline Misaye as “Nora,” David Gianopoulos as “Stanley” and Michael Uribes as “Roberto.”
