Delirium Musicum is a Los Angeles-based, self-conducted, classical chamber orchestra that creates a unique, immediate, and visceral concert experience by applying dazzling creativity and limitless excitement to its performances.
The ensemble of 12 musicians, led from the violin by music & artistic director Etienne Gara, represents the artistic excellence and leadership of the young generation of musicians in Los Angeles. The small size of this ensemble allows the musicians to bond and connect intimately with the audience. The group's performances are dedicated to inspiring wild excitement and ecstasy by engaging audiences with unapologetic and fresh approaches to wide-ranging musical repertoire. Creative interpretation of the old masters as well as collaboration with contemporary composers generates new and exciting musical programs that speak to modern audiences.
This program will feature the winners of the ensemble's 2019 Call for Scores (David Bird, Kai-Young Chan, and Anna Pidgorna) as well as pieces by Rameau, Bach, Arvo Pärt, and Vivaldi.
